Alex Grecian was nice enough to let me do a pin up for the upcoming Proof TPB (Image comics). If you haven't picked up Proof, do. It's a pretty fantastic read.

The Penguin

I did this sketch at the Free State Free Con a few weeks ago. I kind of liked it, and asked the guy to email me a scan. And so he did, and here it is. Also, this was the first time I had ever drawn the Penguin... odd to realize there are tons of classic comics characters that I have never tried to draw.

Illustrations for the Faith section...

It's pretty ironic that I, unrepentant atheist, am in charge of designing the Faith section of the KC Star*. I suppose it keeps me unbiased, as I do not favor any one religious philosophy over another—I think they're all bunkum. What's nice about working on this section is that oftentimes the stories are abstract enough, that they require illustrations rather than photos. Here's the last two.




*actually, let me revise that. You know what's REALLY ironic? That a newspaper, which ostensibly reports facts to the public, has a religion section, which reports on belief systems devoid of any provable evidence (the very definition of "faith") but it does not have a Science & Technology section that would report on scientific news and advances... you know, science... that ol' thang that gave us the scientific method and the very notion of what constitutes a fact.

And here it is, the most recent poster I did for the KC Roller Warriors.... I like this ok. I think I did it in too many sittings, never had quite the time to dedicate a good long uninterrupted chunk of time to it... so I it feels a little disjointed and overworked. I don't hate it, but it ain't going on my gravestone either...

Them roller girls are hawt though...
