Mural
So I have not posted anything in a while because I have been crazy busy. Mostly with newspaper work that isn't worth posting. (It's what happens when you lay off half the art department. It's been a while since I've had time to do an illustration I could actually be proud of).
BUT I did do a fairly large thing, for a show that opened on First Friday of April. A big ass, 4 ft. by 13 ft mural. It was part of a larger mural, exquisite corpse style. A bunch of Chicago artists and a bunch of KC artists got panels. And then we painted them and got together to assemble them. Josh was gonna be part of this but he pussied out.
We were supposed to work on them so more live during the opening, butin the end no one was up to it. I'm hoping some of the other artists will step up for the next First Friday, as I was looking forward to the live art aspect... and my mural still needs some work.
Anyway, these are processs pics. The mural is outisde Leedy Voulkos until the end of May. At which point I will have to figure out what to do with two 4 ft x 6.5 ft paintings. (yup, it's two panels, stacked.)
Anyways, dig it.
This was the first sketch.
The second sketch...
And the finished monster.
installed with all the other ones...
